It was reiterated that the Fitness and Aquatics Centre continues to be operated by the ILSC until a sustainable model is achieved. This will ensure community access to the facilities is continued.

On 1 August the Indigenous Land and Sea Corporation (ILSC) announced its decision to wind up
operations of NCIE Ltd. at 180 George St Redfern following the divestment of the site to the NSW
Aboriginal Land Council (NSWALC).
‘Our organisations have worked together in good faith to try and secure the future of NCIE. Unfortunately, we have not been able to reach agreement on terms for ongoing support of the organisation and as a result it will close. We are disappointed by the outcome and will work to support affected staff and community’.
